FACEBOOK

  • Facebook is planning a rebrand with an all new name, set to debut next week. Am I the only one in awe over this decision? Although I guess it makes sense, the Facebook name is a bit tainted.
  • Speaking of tainted, Mark Zuckerberg was named as a defendant in consumer privacy lawsuit against Facebook for his involvement in the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
  • Facebook will also start down-ranking your posts in Groups if you break the rules, and is providing admins with a new moderation tool.

INSTAGRAM

  • A lot of new features coming to Instagram soon, including Reels collaborations (a TikTok copy), desktop posting, and more!
  • The platform also added new data analytics that aim to provide more performance insight for marketers.

SNAPCHAT

TWITTER

AR, VR, & AI

  • Snap has unveiled a new AR content studio that seeks to help brands develop innovative and interactive AR campaigns.
  • Now you can participate in new AR experiences while on group video calls using Facebook Messenger.

NOTEWORTHY

  • Even Pinterest has that TikTok fever. The platform now has a Watch tab for videos, as well as announcing $20 million in creator rewards, much like Gen-Z’s favorite platform.
  • YouTube has added auto chapters as a search element, as the platform continues to try to push its chapters feature. The platform also launched new live shopping events this week.

VIRAL CONTENT

  • Here to report that the red flag meme is not accessible. (I would put a bunch of red flag emojis here, but, ya know…)
  • Is it a bones day or a no bones day? Noodle the Dog deciphers what kind of mood the internet is in for any given day. It’s kind of like consulting the groundhog on how long winter will last, but much more legitimate.

Have an excellent weekend!
